A new-ish beginning

Possibly, every now and then, I'll post some sort of semi-witty comments in this blog space. I can't be sure I have that much energy for this, so I can't promise to be either timely or witty.

But, here's my thought for the day. I really hate the whole "roof-topping" photo thing. Hate it. Generally speaking, the photos are boring as hell. But I can live with that, whatever. The thing that makes me crazy is the total disregard for safety - not only for the photographers sitting on the edges of very high buildings, which by the way is insane - but for the people below. None of these photographers have proper safety equipment to prevent a horrible accident from a dropped item for 18 storeys up. It is the most irresponsible activity I have seen in a very long time, and it is a trend on Instagram that has to end. One day some poor soul is going to be seriously injured or die because of this total disregard for safety.

It should not be celebrated. It should not be greeted with gushing remarks about how awesome it is. It is not awesome, it is grossly irresponsible.
